Every charge starts with a rule.

The table below is generated from the billing constants, not typed by hand. The server recalculates the same numbers when a job is reserved and settled.

Rates by tool

A job accepts up to 100 items. The video interface processes one clip per job; the rate applies to that clip's duration.

Credit rates generated from shared constants
Tool or operationRuleExample
Image conversion and compression1 credit per image3 images = 3 credits
Video conversion and compression1 credit per 10 seconds, rounded up, minimum 125 seconds = 3 credits
Archive extraction or creation1 credit per 10 MiB, rounded up, minimum 125 MiB = 3 credits
QR generation1 credit per 10 codes, rounded up, minimum 125 codes = 3 credits
QR recognition1 credit per image3 images = 3 credits

Rounding and minimums

  • Image and QR recognition charges are per image and are not prorated.
  • Video is charged in 10-second blocks. A 1-second clip costs 1 credit; a 61-second clip costs 7.
  • Archive input is charged in 10 MiB blocks. A 1-byte archive costs 1 credit; an 11 MiB archive costs 2.
  • QR generation is charged in blocks of 10 codes. One code costs 1 credit; 11 codes cost 2.
  • Zero items in a job cost zero. A job with at least one video, archive, or generated QR item starts at 1 credit per such item.

Reservation and settlement

  • The client estimates before starting; the server recalculates and reserves the estimate.
  • A job is refused before processing if the balance is too low.
  • At completion the server settles successful items and releases the difference.
  • Failed items are not charged.
  • If the tab closes and completion never arrives, the reservation expires after 30 minutes and is released by scheduled cleanup.

Monthly subscription credits

Each period tops the balance up to the plan allowance. The top-up is the difference between the allowance and the current balance, so unused credits do not pile up month after month.

Canceling a subscription stops the next top-up but does not remove credits already granted.

Refund window

Purchased credits that remain unused can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Consumed credits cannot be refunded. Subscription, signup, and administrator credits are not cash-refundable.

The refund policy has the full rules. Payments are not enabled in this preview.

Overage

The plan comparison lists an overage rate of $0.01 per credit, but overage billing is not enabled. A job that needs more credits than the balance is refused before processing; the balance never goes negative.
