The credit unit
Every job is estimated in credits before it starts. The client shows the estimate, and the server recalculates it from the reported item metadata. The server never trusts a credit amount supplied by the client.
Rates are shared constants used by both the interface and the server. The table below is generated from those constants.
Rates by tool
A single job accepts up to 100 items. Video, archive, and QR jobs are metered at the rates above.
| Tool or operation | Rule | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Image conversion and compression | 1 credit per image | 3 images = 3 credits |
| Video conversion and compression | 1 credit per 10 seconds, rounded up, minimum 1 | 25 seconds = 3 credits |
| Archive extraction or creation | 1 credit per 10 MiB of input, rounded up, minimum 1 | 25 MiB = 3 credits |
| QR generation | 1 credit per 10 codes, rounded up, minimum 1 | 25 codes = 3 credits |
| QR recognition | 1 credit per image | 3 images = 3 credits |
Reservation and settlement
- Before processing, the server reserves the estimated credits and refuses the job if the balance is insufficient.
- The job is created with a status of reserved. The client then processes the files, either in the browser or by uploading them for server-side processing, as stated on the tool page.
- At completion, the server recalculates the charge from the submitted item metadata, captures the credits for successful items, and releases the difference.
- Failed items are not charged. If every item fails, the reservation is released.
- If the tab closes or the completion request never arrives, the reservation expires after 30 minutes and the scheduled cleanup releases the credits.
Failures, cancellation, and retries
Canceling a job releases the reservation. A crash, out-of-memory error, or lost network response is treated as an incomplete job and is released by the expiry process if the client cannot settle it.
A retried reservation reuses the same idempotency key, so a lost response does not reserve credits twice. Completion requests are also idempotent.
Credits are not charged for files that were never processed, for unsupported formats rejected before a job starts, or for a job blocked by a plan limit.
Subscription credits
Each subscription period tops the balance up to the plan allowance. The top-up is the difference between the allowance and the current balance, and it never makes the balance exceed the allowance.
Unused credits do not accumulate. A month with no usage does not create a second allowance on top of the first.
Credits do not expire on a fixed date while the account is active, but they can be consumed by jobs and are not refundable once used.
Overage
The plan table lists an overage rate of $0.01 per credit. Overage billing is not enabled in this preview. A job that needs more credits than the balance is refused before processing; no negative balance or automatic loan is created.
Refunds and credit status
Purchased credits that remain unused can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Consumed credits cannot be refunded. Subscription, signup, and administrative credits are not cash-refundable.
Credits are a usage allowance, not money or stored value. They cannot be transferred, sold, or redeemed for cash outside this policy.
